I woke up to my 1 year anniversary at Crossfit 214 email this morning. I didn't even realize it had been a year already! I'm so happy that I found this gym - I had recently gotten over some VERY destructive and unhealthy habits, and I was ridiculously out of shape. I thought that after a month I would either die or just give up.

Thanks to ALL of the trainers for keeping me motivated and being patient with me! Also, thanks to everyone at Crossfit 214, I wouldn't have kept coming to the gym if it wasn't for you guys. I didn't realize how pivotal Crossfit would be in my life - it has given me a new confidence and motivation in life. It's hard to think that anything is impossible now, especially when I came in and couldn't do a single strict pullup, and now i can view the gym from the top of a muscle up.

Thanks everyone!

Good stuff James. Congrats on that huge improvement and your 1 year.

James, congrats on all of your gains my friend. We're excited you found us. The gym wouldn't be the same without you!

Congrats James - truly inspirational stuff.

Wilbanks, that looks rough.

Congrats James!
My one year anniversary today also (and Westley too)!!!

Getting through the free workout before I joined was one of the hardest things I had ever done (I think Erin was worried she might have to call 911).

There were many days just getting through the warm-up much less the workout was hard for me, but I never thought twice about actually coming in. Thanks to the great coaching and welcoming, supportive athletes I always wanted to come to the gym even if the actual workout terrified me.

I could go on and on, but I think I'll go with short and sweet:
Y'all rock and I am thankful every day for the opportunity to work and sweat and get strong alongside each and every one of you!!!

Margo, James and West I'm so proud of you!!!! This is super exciting. I hope it goes without saying that we'll be celebrating this as well at Mari's birthday bonanza this weekend? Lol

I woke up this morning blind to the WOD and immediately put on my sad face, but that frown was soon turned upside down when i saw Zach was coaching this AM. Awesome work Zach, the rack position suggestion was life changing. :-)

Front Squat: 125#
WOD: 8:35 Red/20#
Yeah me, 400m and I kept pace with James!

PSA - as the classes get larger I have a feeling were going to see heats for some metcons. If we're in heats, please make sure to use only your equipment and only put your equipment away. I know I'm always the culprit that goes for the first available "thing" but we need to make sure we allow others the right to their stuff (sorry Sara for jacking your rings tonight!)

August 22, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterErin

Kept the front squat light at 135 today to focus on form.

7:13 Rx.

August 22, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterGreg

Erin- I completely agree! Especially since I stole someone rings today on accident as well.. I just assumed they were available not paying attention! Again sorry

Got a wild hair to do Open WOD 12.4 today. Carlsbad Crossfit loved watching me suffer.
12 min AMRAP
150 wall balls 20#
90 DUs
30 MUs

Got through the wall balls and DUs. 5 failed MU attempts. Frustrating.

During the opens I only got 128 wall balls... So it was a monster improvement. Good day.

Bri - Remind me to tell you the story of the "Rusa Zakuska" that I heard from a former Bulgarian pharmaceutical exec who lives outside Sofia.
